FAQS
Are the jewelry pieces handmade or one-of-a-kind?
Yes. I design and fabricate all jewelry in my studio. Most pieces are one-of-a-kind or made in very small batches. Cards and book illustrations come from my original drawings, using watercolor pencils and a bit of ink. Inspiration comes from nature.
What is fine silver?
Fine silver is 99.9% pure silver. Because it has no added alloys, it does not tarnish the way sterling silver does.
What are enamels?
Enamels are finely ground glass. The enamels I use are mostly transparent colors, added in very thin layers. Each layer is fired in a kiln.
How do I care for my jewelry?
Enameled silver jewelry should not be worn in the ocean, pools, or the shower or bath. Take care not to drop it onto a hard surface. Enamel is glass and can crack. If that happens, it may be fixable — contact me and include a photo of the piece.
Do you offer cards, and what do they feature?
Yes. My cards feature original illustrations from Oliver the Overachiever and other garden-inspired artwork. They’re meant for collectors, gifts, or sending a little whimsy and encouragement. Current designs and bundles are in the shop.
How do I purchase items from the site?
Browse Jewelry (Earrings, Necklaces), Books, and Cards, add items to your cart, and check out. Payment is processed securely. If anything doesn’t go through, email kdemesa1@me.com.
What is Oliver the Overachiever about?
Oliver the Overachiever is a picture book I wrote and illustrated, recommended for ages 5–8. It follows Oliver, an adventurous anole lizard who hatches in a flowerpot and treats life as a playful game. The story encourages children to celebrate who they are, stay true to themselves, and value community.
Is there a sequel to Oliver the Overachiever?
Yes. I have written a sequel and am back at work illustrating it. Watch the blog for glimpses of progress.
Can I contact you with questions or custom requests?
Absolutely! Email kdemesa1@me.com for custom jewelry, book signings, wholesale cards, or anything else. I love hearing from customers and fellow nature and art lovers.
How does shipping and insurance work?
Jewelry ships in a Priority Mail box with tracking. Insurance is based on the cost of each individual piece. Cards and books are not shipped with insurance.
